LIFE AND FAMILY - WHO WAS HE?
Josef Mengele, "The angel of death" was born on the 16th of March and died of stoke on the 7th of February 1979. As he grew up he served as an officer in the German SS, he was also a physician in the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz and that was his main job as an adult. He studied anthropology and earned his doctorates in Munich University. He also earned his doctorates by studying medicine in the Frankfurt University. Josef Mengele was notorious in his life due to the fact that he constructed human experiments on camp inmates from the concentration camp; mainly the Jewish people and he also included children. His father owned a local manufacturing business named Karl Mengele and Sons Company which consisted of the constructions of farming equipment needed for sawing and milling. Mengele had 2 siblings but he was the oldest child. Mengele had a wife, in which he married on the 28th of July, 1939. He married Irene Schönbein, who both studied in Leipzig. Josef and Irene had a son, named Rolf who was born in 1944. Irene had divorced Mengele and 9 years later Josef had married Martha Mengele.
